Hot Potato Gift
What you will need.
- A Prize
- Box to fit your prize in
- 2 types of wrapping paper
- Tape
Preparation:
Place the prize in side of a box. Wrap the box in 1 type of wrapping paper and then again in the other type. Repeat this process an unlimited amount of times.
Game play:
Have everyone sit in a circle. The first person unwraps one layer, and then passes it on to the next person. The 2nd person un-wraps another layer and then passes it on to the next player. This keeps going on until a player un-wraps the last layer. This player is the winner and gets to keep the prize.
Alternative version:
If you have a gift for one person but want to spice up the unwrapping process then wrap the gift with alternating paper wrap like described above in preparation. However, this time add a little riddle to each layer of wrapping. Before they can open the next layer they must solve the riddle. This is great for kids!
Guess what Santa left
What you will need:
- A Prize
- Stocking
- Oven mitts or gloves
- Timer set for 1 minute
- Tape
Preparation:
Place the prize inside the stocking where nobody will see what it is.
Game Play:
Start the timer. Have the first person put on the mitts and without looking inside the stocking, Try to guess what it is by feel, smell and sound only. If they do not guess what it is by the time the timer stops it is the next players turn. Whoever correctly guesses what it is wins the prize!
Un-wrapped
What you will need:
- A Prize
- Boxes, sizes that fit inside each other. The prize must fit into the smallest box.
- Wrapping paper
- Newspaper
- Dice
- Christmas hat
- Oven mitts or gloves
- Tape
Preparation:
Place the prize inside a box. Fill any space with newspaper. Wrap the box with wrapping paper. Place that box inside a larger box and fill any empty space with newspaper. Wrap that box with wrapping paper. Continue this process of wrapping the box, filling space with newspaper and placing inside a larger box for as many times as you want. When you start this game the prize will seem huge!
Game Play:
Have everyone either stand in a circle around the gift or in a line. The first player rolls the die. If it comes up a 6 then the player puts on the hat and the mitts and starts unwrapping the present. The next player immediately rolls the die. If it is not a 6 then it is the next player in lines turn. Once another player rolls a 6 the player unwrapping the present has to stop and hand over the hat and mittens. Then the new player puts on the hat and gloves and continues to unwrap. This continues until someone un-wraps the prize. They are the winner!
